NURS 1130 - General Principles of Nursing Pharmacology


This course introduces basic principles of pharmacology to enable the nursing student to provide safe and effective care related to medication administration to individuals throughout the lifespan. Students will learn to use current, reliable sources of medication information and to make beginning nursing clinical decisions regarding monitoring and evaluating effectiveness of medication therapy and interventions to increase therapeutic benefits and reduce potential negative effects. Selected medications will be studied based on pharmacologic and therapeutic classifications.
