EDUC 2120 - Exploring Sociocultural Perspectives on Diversity This course is designed for students to examine (a) the nature and function of culture; (b) the development of individual identities and group cultural identity; (c) systems of privilege, power, and oppression; (d) definitions and implications of diversity; (e) the influences of sociocultural factors on learning, development, and pedagogy; and (f) the foundations and applications of social justice education. A minimum of 20 hours of field experience in a setting chosen by the instructor is required.
Prerequisite/Corequisite: Prerequisites: EDUC 2110 and ENGL 1101 with grades of C or higher
