This course is designed to explore the role of print and electronic media in the Arab World in a wider cultural context. Reading and listening materials are extensive and vary depending on different selected themes. Students will discuss the media’s impact on government, policy making, democracy, and elections in the Arabic world. Special attention will be paid to students’ composition skills through extensive grammar and writing assignments. Class conducted in Arabic.
