CSCI 4810 - Introduction to Multimedia Signal Processing

This course offers an introduction to discrete-time systems and multimedia signal processing. Students will develop an understanding of discrete multimedia signals and digital signal processing theories, and obtain hands-on experience in implementing fundamental DSP algorithms. It covers topics on discrete-time linear systems, difference equations, discrete convolution, discrete-time Fourier transforms, analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog conversion, digital filter design, discrete Fourier transforms, fast Fourier transforms, and spectral analysis. It emphasizes DSP’s applications to process sound, speech, music, and images. Implementations of DSP algorithms are required.
