ENGL 2121H - Honors English Literature I Honors British Literature I is an enriched version of ENGL 2121. This course in British Literature from the Anglo-Saxon period to the end of the Eighteenth Century involves reading, analyzing, and interpreting significant literary works within their historical, social, and cultural contexts. Honors literature courses are smaller and taught in a seminar-style that allows students to engage in vibrant discussions of intellectual and cultural import, to share their analytical points of view, and hone their critical thinking skills. Faculty work closely with students to develop their literary interpretation and writing skills. Students participate in a range of engaged learning activities and research to delve more deeply into British literature and culture in the context of a global world.
Prerequisite/Corequisite: Prerequisite: Completion of ENGL 1102 with a grade of B or higher. For enrollment in Honors classes, students must have a 3.2 college GPA, or incoming freshman must show a combined 1100+ SAT (or 24+ ACT) and a 3.5+ high school GPA. Students must have completed any Learning Support (LS) requirements.
