GISC 4490 - Advanced Image Processing This course covers advanced image processing techniques and their application to solving real world environmental problems. Algorithms examined include noise modeling, filtering, geometric transformations, wavelets and multi-resolution processing, boundary extraction, region filling, thinning, thickening, pruning, region growing, self-organizing map and fuzzy c-means clustering. This course will also include LIDAR, RADAR, Sensor Fusion, sub-pixel classification and Object Based Image Analysis (OBIA). Students will also learn hands on techniques for spectral signature measurement and their application to classification techniques.
