PSYC 3103 - Cross-Cultural Psychology


This course is a survey course in cross-cultural psychology.  It is designed to familiarize the student with theories of human development and current psychological research from a cross-cultural perspective.  The course is designed to expand the student’s awareness and sensitivity to global similarities and differences in behavior.  The student will make interconnections among culture, development and behavior in their own lives as well as others.  Successful performance in this course will require much more than simply memorizing definitions and concepts.  The successful student must learn to USE psychological theories, cross-cultural research methods and psychological findings.  Each of these is an essential element of the College’s academic mission as outlined in its general education outcomes.

Prerequisite/Corequisite:
Prerequisite:  Completion of PSYC 1101 with a grade of C or higher.
