PSYC 3307 - Psychology of Eating This course will focus on the psychological processes underlying humans’ eating behavior. Issues to be addressed include: physiological factors that impact eating (e.g., hunger and thirst), the importance of taste and smell for eating, the factors that impact food preferences (e.g., genes, environment, experience), disordered eating (e.g., anorexia, bulimia, obesity), and the relations among eating, health and weight (e.g., Type II Diabetes, female health, smoking). The psychological rather than physiological processes of eating will be emphasized.
Prerequisite/Corequisite: PSYC 1101 with a grade of C or higher.
