ITEC 3211 - Foundations of Database Design


A foundation course in terminology, concepts, and applications of database processing including file organization and data structures. Course emphasizes database design using various modeling techniques including Entity-Relationship and Semantic-Object models; database implementation using the relational model, normalization, and SQL; database application design including control mechanisms, forms, reports, and menus. Students will design, create, and process a database to demonstrate competence in the course content. Pre-requisite: BUSA/CISM 2201 or BUSA/CISM 3201
