SPAN 2260 - Readings in Spanish American Literature An introductory literature course that traces the development of Spanish American literature from the colonial period to the present. Representative works of various genres are examined in their cultural and historical contexts studied through the use of literary and cultural readings, film, music, video, and the Internet. Readings include selections from pre-Hispanic texts, Columbus, Cortes, Juana Ines de la Cruz, Sarmiento, Bello, Carpenier, Borges, Rulfo, Garcia Marquez, Cortazar, Allende, and others. Course conducted in Spanish.
Prerequisite/Corequisite: Prerequisite: SPAN 2002, SPAN 2006, or their equivalent or permission of instructor.
