SIED 4184 - Science Methods for Elementary School Teachers


This course is designed to prepare P-5 teachers to deliver hands-on, content rich science instruction and to engage students in the process of science.  This course provides opportunities for teacher candidates to learn and understand how to teach the characteristics and processes of science and the concepts and principles of earth, physical, and life sciences that are aligned to the Georgia Performance Standards.  The course will also examine psychological underpinnings of science learning, elementary science curricula and standards, classroom layout and safety, assessment, and science in popular culture.  Guided field experience is required.
