NDPT 7101 - Biomechanics This course is an introduction to fundamental concepts and principles to the study of human movement. The course is design to help DPT students understand essential concepts in statics and dynamics of human movement and their application to physical therapy practice. Basic kinetic, kinematic, and muscle mechanics concepts with their application to study normal and abnormal joint movements, gait, and posture will be discussed. Evaluation procedures such as motion capture, electromyography and kinetic analysis will be utilized. This course is part of the foundational science coursework and provides knowledge required by future human movement specialists.
