GEOG 6414K - Spatial Information Science for Epidemiology and Public Health


This course provides students with advanced knowledge of spatial resources and methods specific to public health, with an emphasis on epidemiology and environmental applications. The course will address more advanced applications of GIS and spatial analysis in health-related topics. Students are expected to use the methods of GIS, spatial statistics and geospatial models to analyze and understand the spatial patterns of disease distributions and environmental risks, the location-allocation problems of health care services, and the relationship between population distribution, the spread of disease and the physical environment.
