TDPT 7406 - Clinical Education I


The purpose of this clinical placement is to provide practical training for the international student enrolled in the Post Professional DPT program (PPDPT) program. Students will learn to practice physical therapy based on the APTA standards. Students will have the opportunity for practical application of the foundational sciences and the clinical problems skills studied in the PPDPT program. Students will have the opportunity to synthesize and evaluate the five elements of patient client management (examination, evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis, plan of care, and intervention) for patients with multi-system failure, including integumentary, musculoskeletal, cardiopulmonary, and neuromuscular (Pediatrics and Adult) conditions. These skills will be performed under the direct supervision of a licensed practicing clinician. This six-week assignment can occur in a variety of rural and/or urban facilities.

Prerequisites: Enrolled in the PPDPT program and successful completion of all prior coursework
