TDPT 7407 - Clinical Education II

The purpose of this clinical placement is to provide further practical training for the international student enrolled in the Post Professional DPT program (PPDPT) program. This course will provide the students with the opportunity to enhance their clinical skills, critical thinking, and clinical reasoning to a more advanced level and become competent in providing independent patient care. Students will have the opportunity for practical application of the foundational sciences and the clinical problems skills studied in the PPDPT program. Students will have the opportunity to synthesize and evaluate the five elements of patient client management (examination, evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis, plan of care, and intervention) for patients with multi-system failure, including integumentary, musculoskeletal, cardiopulmonary, and neuromuscular (Pediatrics and Adult) conditions. These skills will be performed under the direct supervision of a licensed practicing clinician. Students will demonstrate independent patient care by presenting case management based on the International Classification of Functioning, Disability, and Health (ICF) framework.
