SOCI 3250 - Sociology of Family Violence This 3-hour course examines violence in the family from sociological and other perspectives. It includes the types and causes of violence in families and domestic units, with special focus on those directed against more vulnerable populations (woman battering, courtship and dating conflict, and child abuse). Throughout the various types of family violence, intervention and prevention measures are examined as well as the social and legal implications of these measures.
Prerequisite/Corequisite: Prerequisite: SOCI 1101

Notes: This course will not be a part of the curriculum, but will count as a 3-hour upper level elective for some four-year programs.
