THEA 3640 - Period Styles for Designers This is a survey course studying the history of western costume and decorative arts. Students will learn to identify the hallmarks of clothing, furniture, architecture and interior decoration from the Ancient Egyptian to the Modern period. Students will gain an understanding of how these elements function as a reflection of each society and how these elements can be manipulated in the theatre communication process. To that end, students will engage in research and develop a design morgue for each era - to include color renderings of specific elements.
