ART 3570 - Mexican and U.S. Latino/a Art This course studies the history of art in Mexico as well as the history of Mexican American art in the United States. It includes topics on Mesoamerican art, colonial art created in the Viceroyalty of New Spain, post-independence Mexican art, the Mexican mural movement, the tradition of magic realism, and contemporary Mexican art. The course addresses the origins and development of the Chicano/a art movement and contemporary U.S. Latino/a art.
