MUED 4290 - Seminar in Music Education Seminar in MUED is a synthesis capstone course for the music education degree, which explores the philosophies and research-based instructional practices as applied to music contexts. Students will develop a comprehensive philosophy of teaching statement and practical applications for instrumental, choral, and general music settings. Students will deepen their understanding of their role as members of a professional learning community in support of a comprehensive music program. Additional topics include school and classroom climate, program vision, effective communication with administrators and stakeholders. Students will complete a field experience, supervised observations, and key assessments as required by the College of Education for GA certification.
Prerequisite/Corequisite: Successfully met the requirements for progression in the College of Education, MUED 3220 with a grade of B or higher, and both MUED 4210, and MUED 4220 with grades of C or higher.
Corequisite: MUED 4280.
