PHYS 4310 - Particle Physics and the Early Universe A broad introduction to the subject particle physics and the role it plays in understanding the structure of matter and the evolution of our universe from the moment of the Big Bang to the present. The course will introduce the Standard Model of particle physics, conservation laws, relativistic kinematics, high energy collider physics, and particle physics in the Early Universe. The phenomenology of various particle physics processes and some of the open questions that remain will be explored.
Prerequisite/Corequisite: Prerequisite: PHYS 3310 with a grade of C or higher
