ECON 3580 - Sports Economics


This course is designed to build upon the fundamental microeconomic topics studied in ECON 2106 (Principles of Microeconomics) with a special emphasis on individual and team sports. After completing this class you should understand the economics of sports, including monopoly and antitrust, the importance of leagues, competitive balance, pay determination, labor/management relations, labor market imperfections, racial and gender discrimination, and the economics of college sports.

Prerequisite/Corequisite:
Prerequisite: ECON 2106 with a grade of C or higher
