ECON 3590 - Urban and Regional Economics


Because urban environments are an essential feature of human existence, this course explores the nature and development of urban areas, beginning with analysis of why cities grow and how individuals and firms choose their locations. The influence of land use patterns, sub-urbanization, transportation, education, crime, housing, and regional economic development will also be assessed. Students will also develop analytical skills that will enhance their interaction with their everyday environment.

Prerequisite/Corequisite:
Prerequisites: ECON 2106 with a grade of C or higher, or ECON 2105 and Core IMPACTS Mathematics course with grades of C or higher
