PHYS 4410 - The Physics of Energy


Course in physics that applies the content and skills of previous physics courses to energy. The course begins with a review of the major topics of undergraduate physics including mechanics, electromagnetism, waves and light, thermodynamics, and quantum physics. The course then delves into applying physics to understanding fossil fuels, nuclear energy, solar energy, wind power and other related topics (such as electric vehicles, ocean energy, or climate models) depending upon interest of instructor and class.

Prerequisite/Corequisite:
Prerequisites: PHYS 3310 with a “C” or higher and two courses from PHYS 3111, PHYS 3411, and PHYS 3610 with a “C” or higher
