SOCI 3293 - Sociology of the Family


This course involves a study of the family as a social institution in American society and is an introduction to the structure, processes, problems and adjustments of contemporary marriage and family life. Selected topics may include love, dating, marital quality, communication, sex and parenthood, conflict and power, family violence, divorce and remarriage. This course is a split-level course. Students who have successfully taken SOCI 2293 may not take SOCI 3293 and receive credit.
