ENGL 3165 - Professional Editing This course outlines the professional practices in substantive-, line-, and copyediting. It will cover the editorial process; the author-editor relationship; best practices for editing both nonfiction and fiction; writing manuscript assessments; defining substantive editing, line editing, and copyediting; house style and style sheets; common issues in line editing; editing on paper and onscreen; common problems in spelling, grammar, punctuation, and word usage.
Prerequisite/Corequisite: Prerequisite: ENGL 2230 with a grade of C or higher or permission of the instructor
