PARA 2108 - Criminal Procedure and Litigation To provide the student with a basic understanding of the criminal justice system and how it functions; to learn criminal procedure and how a criminal case proceeds from arrest to appeal, and to give the student a foundation for understanding criminal offenses, including how they are prosecuted and how a defense is raised. This will include understanding what motions are appropriate for filing by the defendant and by the State. These objectives will be accomplished by a combination of class presentation and “hands-on” practice.
