PARA 2210 - Torts The goal of this course is to provide the paralegal student with a basic understanding of tort law. This will include understanding intentional torts, negligence and its elements, strict and products liability, malpractice, business torts, and defenses thereto. The student will learn how to investigate and prepare a tort case from initial injury through the final appeal. These goals will be accomplished by a combination of reading, class presentations, and “hands-on” practice using real-life examples. Special attention will be paid to the skills most often needed by paralegals in the area of tort law.
