PSYC 3306 - Introduction to Health Psychology This course will provide a comprehensive introduction to the field of Health Psychology. The field of Health Psychology examines how biological, psychological, and social factors interact with and affect: 1) the efforts people make in promoting good health and preventing illness; 2) the treatment people receive for medical problems; 3) how effectively people cope with and reduce stress and pain; and 4) the recovery, rehabilitation, and psychosocial adjustment of patients with serious health problems. In this course, we will be discussing a variety of topics that address factors underlying health habits and lifestyles, methods to enhance health behavior and prevent illness, and stress and stress management.
Prerequisite/Corequisite: Prerequisite: Completion of PSYC 1101 with a grade of C or higher.
