MUSC 1100H - Honors Music Appreciation

An introduction to music history and literature. Topics will include fundamental music terminology, engaged listening, styles/genres of major creative eras, the relationship between culture and music, and the various uses/purposes of music. This course will address western art music, non-western music, and American popular music. Attendance at concerts outside of regular class time is required.
