The Department of Criminal Justice offers graduate and undergraduate courses leading to an Associate of Science in Criminal Justice, a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with a Concentration in Forensics, and a Master of Science with a major in Criminal Justice. For information regarding the graduate program, please contact the Office of Graduate Admissions or visit the University of North Georgia website.

The Criminal Justice Program offers a broad-based, social science curriculum reflecting the academic emphasis of the discipline and focusing on the complexities of human behavior. The curriculum of the major provides a broad conceptual framework of the discipline. The program seeks to develop leaders in the field who are able to integrate and augment the knowledge of the discipline.

Students in the A.S. program are provided a strong foundational knowledge of the criminal justice system. Those pursuing the B.S. degree are also provided a foundational exposure to all important aspects of the discipline prior to selecting major elective courses that will permit them to specialize in a specific field of the criminal justice discipline. Courses may include in-depth investigations in policing, courts, corrections, or forensics. All students seeking a B.S. degree in criminal justice participate in an internship experience.

“NO GRADE BELOW “C” WILL BE ACCEPTABLE IN ANY CRIMINAL JUSTICE COURSE OR ANY COURSE IN THE MAJOR AREA FOR CRIMINAL JUSTICE.”
