The Mike Cottrell College of Business Department of Management, MIS and Marketing offers BBA degrees in Management, Marketing and BAS in Technology Management. Upper-level courses supporting the Management and Marketing degrees are available at Dahlonega and at Gainesville night programs. Upper-level courses supporting the Technology Management degree is offered at Gainesville. This department also houses a number of associate-level courses that apply towards the AA degree in Business Administration.
The Business Administration degree in Management prepares students to plan, organize, lead, and control businesses and not-for-profit organizations. The leadership aspects of this major are fundamental to motivating and understanding the human resource aspect of organizations, and a leadership concentration is available to students. Marketing majors are trained in advertising, consumer behavior, retailing and marketing research. Personal selling and career-specific electives provide the students opportunity to specialize their marketing knowledge. Technology management prepares graduates to move into supervisory positions in businesses and industry, retail environments, law offices, and travel or tourism related businesses. Courses in management, marketing, and accounting help students blend their specific expertise with new technology skills.
