Mission
The mission of the Mike Cottrell College of Business at the University Of North Georgia is to produce skilled, ethical business leaders who are competitive in the regional and global environment by providing an atmosphere of personalized learning, conducting relevant research, and fostering active engagement experiences.

Becoming a Business Major or Minor and Advising
Upon admission to the University, any student can declare a major in the AA, AS, AAS or BBA degree program. Currently enrolled students who wish to change their major to business must have an overall GPA of at least 2.0; otherwise, they will be provided with specific suggestions for improving their academic record prior to making another request.
Admission to the BAS requires an appropriate career associate degree (e.g., AAS or AAT) from an institution regionally accredited to grant associate degrees. Students who hold associate degrees (usually AA or AS) that are designed to constitute the first two years of a BA, BS or BBA or other traditional baccalaureate degrees will not be eligible for admission to the BAS program. A student who wishes to pursue the BAS, but who has not yet completed a career associate degree, must finish the career associate degree before applying for entry to the BAS.

Students with a major in Business will be assigned a faculty advisor in the College of Business based on their degree program and campus. The faculty advisor will assist in planning and sequencing coursework to progress toward a degree and provide career advice. Students seeking a minor in Business should contact the College of Business for direction to the appropriate advisor.

In addition to faculty advisors, the College of Business maintains a website, http://ung.edu/myung/, with advising information for all degree programs. The site includes information for current students including curriculum information, forms, and answers to many frequently asked questions.

Enrollment Eligibility
