Computer Science and Information Systems

The Department of Computer Science and Information Systems in the Mike Cottrell College of Business offers courses of study leading to the Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, the Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity, the Bachelor of Business Administration in Information Systems, and the Associate of Science degree in Computer Science. The Department also offers five minors (mobile app development, cybersecurity, information assurance and security, computer science, and computer information systems) and selected major concentrations.

The degrees, minors, and courses in computer science and information systems prepare graduates for high-tech careers in the thriving fields of CS/IS/IT and in businesses and organizations of all sizes. Courses in programming, web and mobile app development, information security, software engineering, computer architecture, operating systems, networking, databases, and intelligent systems along with a sound theoretical foundation help make our graduates stand out in the workplace. In addition, our minors in mobile app development, cybersecurity, IAS, CS and CIS add value to any degree program and broaden career opportunities for graduates in any field of study.

In order to complete a BBA in Information Systems, students must meet the Admission to Upper Division requirements for the Mike Cottrell College of Business prior to enrolling in most 3000/4000 level courses. Students must also complete the Student Professional Development Program (PROS) 90 days prior to graduation with a BBA degree.
