The Mike Cottrell College of Business Department of Economics and Finance provides students the foundational courses necessary for a well-rounded liberal arts education as well as those essential for a career in business, law, or academic research.
The Mike Cottrell College of Business Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degree in Finance allows undergraduates, the opportunity to gain knowledge in the fields of financial management, financial markets and institutions, real estate, investment management, and derivative securities to prepare them for careers in both the public and private sectors.
In order to complete a B.B.A. in Finance, students must meet the admission to upper-division requirements for the Mike Cottrell College of Business prior to enrolling in most 3000/4000 level courses. Students must also complete the Student Professional Development Program (PROS) 90 days prior to graduation with the B.B.A. degree. The Department offers a minor in Economics and a minor in FinTech. The specific requirements for those programs are also described under the Mike Cottrell College of Business section of this catalog.
