European Union Studies Certificate

The University of North Georgia participates with other University System of Georgia institutions and with select European institutions in offering the European Union Studies Certificate. The Certificate was created to enable students from a wide range of degree programs to better prepare themselves for employment opportunities in the global marketplace.

The Certificate must be taken in tandem with a formal degree program and students from all academic majors are eligible if they possess a minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA. Students may apply upon successful completion of all three of the following:

  1. A course in World or Western Civilization or Global Studies (see below);
  2. the introductory course in European Union Studies (EURO 1100 - Introduction to the European Union) with a minimum grade of “C”; and,
  3. 30 semester hours of academic credit.

Four interdisciplinary courses from an approved menu (to be taken at a senior college);

Capstone Seminar (to be taken at a senior college)

Practicum Experience (to be taken at a senior college); and 3.0 GPA in Certificate courses.
