History Major with Teacher Certification (B.A.)

Admission to the Teacher Education Program required.
The History Degree Program with Teacher Education Certification holds the same Areas A-F, and Major Area requirements as the History Degree, with the exception of one course in Area F: ECON 2105 is required rather than one 1000-2000 level ANTH, ECON GEOG, PHIL, POLS, PSYC, or SOCI course, plus 36 hours of the Teacher Education courses which replace the minor area and elective in the degree program.
Programs of study are subject to requirements listed in the Department of Teacher Education section of this catalog.

Core Curriculum Requirements 60 hours

Area A1: No exceptions
Area A2: No exceptions
Area B: Modern Language 1001 or 1002
Area C: No exceptions
Area D: No exceptions
Area E: HIST 1112 and HIST 2111 recommended
Note: All students pursuing a degree in History must complete HIST 1111, 1112, 2111, & 2112. Typically, 1112 and 2111 will be completed in AREA E and 1111 and 2112 will be completed in AREA F. Area F. Courses Appropriate to Major 18 hours

In order to graduate, a student must have a minimum of 2.0 for their institutional GPA and a 2.0 in their Major (Area F and the Major). Students must also complete a minor. In addition, the following are parts of each degree program:
