The University of North Georgia (UNG) Cottrell Master of Business Administration (MBA) is a cohort program with a new group of approximately 20 to 25 students starting each August. The 30-semester-hour graduate program is organized to be completed in 20–24 months. Students with non-business undergraduate degrees and students with business degrees earned 10 years prior may need to complete additional non-credit foundation classes prior to the start of the Cottrell MBA program.
The Cottrell MBA program is offered in both Gainesville and Cumming. Classes meet two nights per week. Students will carry a six semester hour course load during the fall and spring semesters and no more than a six semester hour course load during the summer. The Cottrell MBA is a part-time graduate program.
The Cottrell MBA program selects a cohort of students with a diverse background of work and educational experience. Early application is advised since initial acceptance notification can occur as early as the fall semester in the year prior to program start date in August.
Two required events help initiate students into the program. First, students attend a two-day Cottrell MBA retreat held at both locations approximately two weeks before the first fall semester. Second, students attend an orientation session at either location one week prior to the start of the Cottrell MBA program.
