Location is a fundamental attribute of all features. Professionals in a wide range of disciplines are utilizing Geographic Information Systems to collect, manage, and analyze geographic information for a deeper understanding of our world. In many disciplines, applied knowledge of geospatial technology has become a presumed pre-requisite.

The University of North Georgia Certificate in Geographic Information Science is an upper division program that emphasizes theory while addressing real-world problems in a variety of disciplines. Course material is tied closely to the geospatial industry. Courses in the Geographic Information Science Certificate may be applied toward the Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Spatial Analysis.

The Certificate is designed to complement students who are pursuing or who already possess an Associates Degree or higher.
