Music with Musical Arts Concentration (B.M.)

A successful entrance audition in the appropriate applied area is required for all students who desire to pursue either an associates pathway or undergraduate degree in any music program. Students who exhibit a high level of talent and potential, but are deficient in their applied area, may be offered provisional admission to the degree program and allowed to re-audition following one semester of secondary level study. Students who do not successfully pass the audition will not be admitted into the degree program. Under the direction of the academic advisor and subject to approval by the Head of the Department of Music, the student will select an elective course of study in the liberal arts which may constitute a minor in another discipline or an approved combination of courses suited particularly to the student’s academic needs. None of these courses may come from the music department. At least nine hours in this area must be at the 3000-4000 level.

Upper Division Course Requirement
- In order to graduate, students must have at least 39 semester hours of upper division course work. Of those, a minimum of 21 must be upper division hours in the major field of study.
