English with Literature Concentration (B.A.)

The Department of English offers major programs leading to a Bachelor of Arts degree. Each of these programs develop communication and critical thinking skills, which are highly valued in graduate schools, professional programs, and businesses in a variety of settings.

Students choosing the B.A. in English may opt for a concentration in either literature or writing. The Literature concentration provides students with the broadest possible perspective of diverse literary traditions. The Writing & Publication concentration provides students with the theory and practice of writing and publishing. The B.A. in English with Teacher Certification includes courses in Teacher Education and field experience, leading to certification to teach grades 6-12.
