Location is a fundamental attribute of all features. Professionals in a wide range of disciplines are utilizing Geographic Information Systems to collect, manage, and analyze geographic information for a deeper understanding of our world. In many disciplines, applied knowledge of geospatial technology has become a presumed prerequisite.
The University of North Georgia Certificate in Geographic Information Science is an upper division program that emphasizes theory while addressing real-world problems in a variety of disciplines. Course material is tied closely to the geospatial industry. Courses in the Geographic Information Science Certificate may be applied toward the Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Spatial Analysis.
To earn this certificate, students must:
- Maintain a 2.5 GPA in all required Geospatial Science Certificate courses.
- Complete all 3000/4000-level courses at UNG. Some transfer credit for 3000/4000-level GISC courses may be considered. Check with an academic advisor.
- Apply for graduation one semester prior to completion of the Certificate requirements.
