Area F: Courses Appropriate to the Major - 18 hours
- Students must complete 18 hours of 1000-2000 level coursework in support of their chosen concentrations.
Major Requirements - 60 hours
Concentrations - 45 hours
Students must complete 45 credit hours of 3000-4000 level courses, and they may choose either Track A (two concentrations of 24 and 21 credits each) or Track B (three concentrations of 15 credits each). The concentrations are as follows:
- Fine and Performing Arts: Art, Film/Media Studies, Music, and Theater
- Natural Sciences: Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, Geography, Geology, Physics, Environmental Science (ENVE & ENVS)
- Social Sciences: Anthropology, Criminal Justice, History, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, Gerontology, Appalachian Studies and Environmental Studies (ENST)
- Business: Accounting, Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, Economics, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Management, and Marketing
- Military Science & Leadership: Military Science and pre-approved Leadership courses
- Humanities: Communication, English, Journalism, Modern Languages, and Philosophy
- Mathematics/Technology: Mathematics, Computer Science, Cyber Security, and Geographic Information Systems
- Health & Human Services: Health, Human Services Delivery & Administration, Kinesiology, Nursing, Teacher Education, Sports Medicine, and Athletic Training
Capstone Course - 3 hours
Electives - 12 hours
- Twelve (12) hours to be determined by the student
Additional Requirements
- Earn a minimum GPA of 2.0 in each concentration area
- Earn a minimum grade of C in IDST 4000
