Audio Recording and Production Arts Certificate

The Audio Recording and Production Certificate provides students with foundational skill-sets in recording and production. Students will have the opportunity to engage with a variety of recording and sound equipment as well as software while learning the underlying principles of audio recording and production in preparing them to engage with technology & production as a music educator and/or musician or for entry level positions in the field. This certificate is ideal for students in other concentrations of the Bachelor of Music degree who wish to add a special emphasis to a Musical Arts* or Music Education Concentration or for those generally seeking additional skills in audio technology and production. The Audio Recording and Production Certificate is also available to post-baccalaureate students or students in other degree programs seeking to explore and develop skills in the recording & production arts.

*Note: Students taking this certificate as part of a Musical Arts Concentration will utilize the certificate to fulfill all Music Electives.  Students are encouraged to utilize one of the following minors to fulfill the Liberal Arts requirement of the degree or to consult with their advisor to tailor a set of courses appropriate for their intended career path.

1. Entrepreneurship Minor plus one of either MDST 1500, MDST 2500, or MDST 2600
2. Business Administration Minor
3. Computer Science Minor
4. Media Studies Minor
