15-17 hours

The minor in Program Planning & Evaluation is designed to prepare students to systematically assess the efficiency and effectiveness of program, policies, and organization across human services, government, non-profits, and public health sectors. Students will learn evaluation theory with GIS, data analytics, research methods, and grant/scientific writing. Due to the interdisciplinary nature of the minor, students are highly encouraged to speak with a minor advisor to choose courses. In some cases, students who have taken required minor classes for their major, may choose substitutions in consultation with the minor advisor.

Minor Requirements

Required Courses - 12-14 hours

*If either SOCI 3020 or GISC 3337K is required for a student’s major, or the student has taken an equivalent methods course (such as PSYC 3070 or PSYC 3080K), students should talk to their minor advisor about an appropriate course substitution.
*If GISC 2011/L is taken in Core IMPACTS STEM, students should take GISC 3021K (4 hrs). If either of these courses is taken as part of a student’s major, students should consult their minor advisor about an appropriate course substitution.
