Leadership Certificate

     Designed to provide the knowledge and skills essential for those in or entering leadership positions, the Certificate was developed and is offered in cooperation with the Athens-Clarke County Police Department and is open primarily to those occupying positions within the field of police services.  Organized as an intensive three week program and offered on a cohort basis, the Certificate objectives include the following:

• to understand and apply modern behavioral science and leadership theories that enhance human motivation, satisfaction, and performance in the achievement of organizational goals;
• to learn frameworks to organize knowledge and experience into effective leader actions;
• to integrate course content into daily leadership practices;
• to develop and achieve personal leadership to the fullest potential; and,
• to inspire lifelong commitment to the study and practice of effective leadership.     

As such, the Certificate focuses on application as well as theory.
