SOCI 3050 - Race and Ethnicity This course examines racial, ethnic and cultural groups in the United States from a sociological perspective. Particular attention will be paid to the political, economic, social, historic and cultural development of race as an idea; racialized opportunity in social institutions; and the historical and economic functions of racism and discrimination, as well as their implications for a pluralistic society.
