HIST 3159 - Social History of Rock & Roll This course will trace the development of rock and roll music as an important cultural element of American society. Students will discuss African American musical traditions and how, with the aid of musical traditions from Europe, they formed the foundation of American rock and roll music in the mid-twentieth century. The course will examine the impact of rock and roll music on youth culture and on American society in general. (U.S. HISTORY)
