GRMN 3030 - German Cinema This course will provide students with an introduction to important movements, directors, and genres in the history of German film. Students will be introduced to techniques that filmmakers use to express themselves. Students will learn about socio-political developments in twentieth century Germany and the effect of these events on filmmakers; you will write and speak about your responses to film; you will develop a working vocabulary of major film terms; you will be able to trace major trends, influences and figures of German cinema; you will use analytical techniques that we practice in class to consider other films; and you will learn to view films more critically and to better appreciate all cinema as an art form. Course taught in German.
Prerequisite/Corequisite: Prerequisites: GRMN 2002 and GRMN 2006, or placement by the Department of Modern Languages
