MDST 4500 - Cinematography In this course students will strengthen their visual voice by being the cinematographer for a short-film project and compiling the footage into select dallies. In the practical, “hands on” aspects of the course, students will sharpen their skills, as well as study techniques and aesthetics of cinematography. Some of these topics may include: 4K and Cinema-RAW workflows, advanced cinematography theory, advance light/shadow control, A/B camera production methods, applying Look Up Tables (LUTs) onset. In addition, students will study the shooting strategies, as well as the overall visual design, of renowned cinematographers. Class time will be spent in lectures, demonstrations, hands-on exercises, in-class shoots, field trips, critiques and discussions.
