The Department of Kinesiology offers an Associate of Science (A.S.) degree with a pathway in Kinesiology and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Kinesiology. Students will choose a concentration within the B.S. Kinesiology degree to narrow their focus. The Department of Kinesiology also offers a minor in Kinesiology. Students interested in pursuing teacher certification at the bachelor’s level should review the Physical Education Teacher Education (BSED) offered through the College of Education.
Concentrations
Admission to any B.S. in Kinesiology concentration requires grades of “C” or higher in BIOL 2251K and BIOL 2252K. Additional admission requirements vary depending on the concentration selected.
Exercise Science
Applications to the B.S. in Kinesiology with a Concentration in Exercise Science are due in January for entry in the following Fall; see web page for specific dates and other admission requirements.
Health & Fitness
Applications to the B.S. in Kinesiology with a Concentration in Health & Fitness are accepted twice a year, once in the Fall semester for entry in the following Spring semester, and once in the Spring semester for entry in the following Fall semester; see web page for specific dates and other admission requirements.
Academic Requirements
All Kinesiology majors must earn a “C” or better in Field of Study courses as well as Major Courses to fulfill the degree requirements.
Club Participation
All Kinesiology majors are encouraged to be members of the majors club on their respective campus and adhere to its policies, regulations, and procedures.
